Y's cause is strengthening the community. With its focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y serves Orange County through six (6) Health & Wellness centers (Laguna Niguel, Newport Beach, Mission Viejo, Fullerton, Yorba Linda, and Santa Ana) and over 50 Afterschool Program centers. YMCA programs celebrate and honor common values of respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring by infusing character development into the foundation and practice of all its programs; from youth sports and group exercise classes to parent/child programs and community services– Y programs build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The YMCA of Orange County is a nonprofit, charitable organization that serves the entire community. Donations support their scholarship program and its Promise – To strive to keep programs open for all.
The mission of St. Vincent Meals on Wheels is to prepare and deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors and other vulnerable residents across Los Angeles. It serves anyone in need who lives within our service area, regardless of age, illness, disability, race, religion or ability to pay. Most of its clients are too frail or ill to buy or prepare simple meals. Many struggle to live on small fixed incomes that fall below the poverty level. St. Vincent MOW is especially committed to meeting their needs. Good nutrition and daily home visits improve the health and dignity of its clients, enabling them to remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible. Its mission has not changed since the program began in 1977. Its values are based on respect, compassionate service, simplicity and advocacy for the poor.
